How to Build a Strong Brand Presence on Social Media in 2023

More than just being a famous brand or a brand with great products, what makes a brand stand out and achieve results is having a strong brand presence

A strong brand presence means that a brand is known, distinguishable, and overall has a good reputation.

More than household brand names

Nike, Apple, and Disney. Marketers and influencers can learn a thing or two from how these household named brands continue to elevate their brand presence. These brands have proven to last and continuously improve their brand presence. But how do they do it?

With Nike for example, you may already have an image that comes to mind whenever it is mentioned: sportsmanship, streetwear, sneakers and the signature “Just Do It” tagline.

Nike also continues to be inclusive of communities that embody their tagline beyond sports.

Apple is one brand that registers immediately to consumers as it’s known for more than its tech products. The brand has always encouraged innovation and community through their keynotes, customer service and new services like Apple TV.

While Disney has always put an emphasis on family-friendly entertainment, they have also continued to leverage on their iconic characters by cross-promoting them on merchandise and partnerships.

Disney has continued to create their image of magic and storytelling by expanding through content on Disney+.

These brands continue to maintain a strong brand presence by using their brand identities and pushing their images further by building on what they already have through continuous innovation and creativity.

Creating more out of an iconic symbol

Locally, the Filipino jeepney has always been a symbol of history and heritage in the country. Since this colorful vehicle has also been ubiquitous to the everyday commute of many Filipinos, it has also naturally become a part of our culture too!

The jeepney’s unique look has quirky designs emblazoned on its exteriors. This in itself has made the jeep a part of important art galleries and local artists and even popular local clothing brands like Team Manila

Ultimately, the jeepney will be a force and a presence that will be missed if the planned phaseout by the government continues. But with how important it is to our culture, it will eventually be memorialized.

Building your brand presence

We understand that the process of actually making a name and building your brand presence isn’t always easy! So we’ve made some tips to help you out:

  1. Define who you are and own it!

Having a strong brand presence means being able to reinforce your brand identity. There should be uniformity in how your marketing materials look like!

For one of our clients, La Germania, it made sense to make content that really made their kitchen appliances be the main character!

2. Don’t overlook quality!

When coming up with content, it’s always best to look at the overall quality of the work: production, concepts and overall direction.

With Traveloka, our team did a video shoot for content that used high production quality to highlight the Traveloka experience with sights from picturesque destinations.

3. Build on something that you already have!

And by something that could be a proven strategy, a tagline, or a type of content!

Highlighting Julia Barretto for a video shoot for a Cebu Pacific campaign makes use of an effective personality that can further strengthen a brand’s marketing efforts.

By focusing on these tips and taking inspiration from the brands above, your brand can establish a strong presence online, connect with your target audience, and be truly original.
