How to cultivate a memorable online persona (inspired by Pedro Pascal)

Pedro Pascal is everywhere, especially online. Aside from being on Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian and most recently, The Last of Us, the internet is obsessed with him. But what should creators and brands learn from his ascent to popularity?

Establishing a presence online

With his latest role on The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal’s talent and sensibilities as an actor is undeniable. His characterization as a father figure has added to his likeability and the internet’s proclamation of him being a “daddy”.

As his popularity continued online, memes were created by a clip from his appearance on Snack Wars where he’s unfazed while chewing on a sandwich. This clip has been used all over TikTok as a meme that has continued to cement his popularity online.

Keeping it real

Pedro shows who he is online through candid interviews with the likes of Hot Ones and his Instagram posts supporting the LGBT community and being for Abortion Rights.

Besides already being called a “daddy” by many on social media platforms like Twitter, Pedro Pascal has also used his appearances and interviews on other shows like Saturday Night Live to further cement this image. In SNL, he had a skit that poked fun at how the internet was obsessed with him and showed that he was also aware of this and in on the craze.

But what makes him “daddy” to most is his awareness of his public image, even proclaiming it himself on the red carpet.

Humanized Content

What marketers and creators can learn from this is that their brand is definitely an extension of themselves. As evidenced by Pedro Pascal, humanizing your content and being aware of your current image can be a big help for brands and creators.

Knowing your current image is also key in getting to know what your audience likes. This in turn can help with branding that can trickle down to how content is created with the audience in mind.
